Full-Time | Grounds Maintenance | Landscaping | Outdoor Maintenance | Equipment Operator
Do you enjoy working outdoors, operating equipment, and taking pride in maintaining beautiful landscapes? We are seeking a Grounds Technician to join our Grounds Services team. This full-time position is ideal for someone with experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, lawn care, snow removal, equipment operation, tree maintenance, or general labor who enjoys working as part of a team.
What You ll Do- Mow, trim, edge, weed, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas.
- Plant, prune, trim, and remove trees and shrubs using hand and power equipment.
- Perform snow removal, roadway maintenance, street sweeping, and seasonal grounds care.
- Assist with cemetery operations, including preparing and closing gravesites and operating tractors, backhoes, and loaders.
- Collect trash and recyclables and operate equipment such as forklifts, balers, and compactors.
- Set up and tear down for campus events, meetings, and special projects.
- Operate and maintain a variety of grounds maintenance equipment safely.
- Complete other grounds and maintenance projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver s license required.
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate grounds maintenance equipment.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and walk throughout the workday.
- Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
- Comfortable working around powered equipment and machinery.
Grounds Technicians regularly operate equipment including:
- Commercial mowers
- Trimmers and leaf equipment
- Chainsaws and stump grinders
- Tractors and backhoes
- Forklifts
- Dump trucks
- Street sweepers
- Snow removal equipment
- Log splitters and other landscape maintenance equipment
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver s license required.
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate grounds maintenance equipment.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
