Under the direction of department leadership, performs clerical and other technical lab duties in an efficient, timely and accurate manner, with quality that exceeds customer expectations. Demonstrates the ability to take initiative and drive productivity and support others with direction, training, and mentorship. Performs advanced customer service tasks, executed at high service level. Aligns to and supports Versiti's mission, vision, and values as well as department goals and objectives.

Understands to a high degree the importance of daily tasks performed and the impact they have on the patients and providers we work with to provide lifesaving diagnostic services.

The target salary is based on internal averages. Versiti sets salary ranges aligned to local markets in which the job is performed. Compensation decisions take into account internal salary averages and differentiation based on education, experience, skills, and performance. Specific salary and benefits information is shared at the time of the phone screening based on your location and qualifications.

• Understand and perform to all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Participate in regulatory audits, as needed.
• Ship, receive, and track packages and specimens while maintaining the integrity of samples, as needed.
• Receive, classify, and process specimens in an accurate and expedient manner.
• Inspect specimens and paperwork for accuracy and acceptability and maintain sample identity and ensure samples are handled and stored at appropriate temperatures to prevent loss of sample.
• Use appropriate systems to accurately perform data entry functions.
• Proofread own work for content, spelling, accuracy, and document format.
• Maintain sample integrity and ensure proper identification of all specimens.
• Prepare samples for laboratory testing, as needed.
• May perform reagent preparation.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance and calibration on equipment, as needed.
• Identify and clearly document sample issues or discrepancies and work with client to resolve, as appropriate.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to email requests with professionalism and a high degree of courtesy and responsiveness. Research and resolve complex issues with follow up to customers in a prompt manner.
• Use written and verbal communication skills to provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers, and appropriately documents interactions.
• Ensure maintenance and organization of departmental records, and execution of reagent and supply inventory control process as needed.
• Perform training activities and provide mentorship to trainees assisting junior and peer staff members with complex issues, and may support the assessment of staff competence, as appropriate.
