Quality & Safety Lead Overview

The Quality & Safety Lead is responsible for auditing, evaluating, and improving the company’s quality and safety policies, procedures, and practices across all services. This is a part-time role with the potential to convert to full-time as the company grows and advances toward ISO(International Organization for Standardization) certification. In Year One, the position will audit the full scope of quality and safety programs, with a focus on assessing compliance, documenting current practices, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

The goal for the first year is to establish a clear understanding of our existing systems and develop practical, prioritized plans to strengthen quality and safety performance as the company continues to mature.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct internal audits of existing quality and safety policies, procedures, workflows, field practices, and documentation
  • Assess current practices for alignment with company expectations, client requirements, and applicable regulations
  • Document findings, identify opportunities for enhanced consistency and clarity, and track progress on improvement initiatives
  • Develop simple, repeatable methods for monitoring compliance trends and reporting observations to leadership
  • Create or refine standardized procedures, checklists, templates, and documentation tools
  • Develop and deliver internal training materials to enhance understanding of quality and safety expectations
  • Support onboarding by preparing quality- and safety-related content for new employees
  • Serve as an internal resource for employees seeking clarification on procedures, documentation, or safety standards
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date quality and safety documentation with proper version control
  • Support consistent use of standardized forms and workflows across the organization
  • Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, and leadership to understand operational needs and integrate quality and safety standards into everyday work
  • Train staff on documentation quality expectations and defensible reporting practices
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action planning when issues are identified
  • Track quality and safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and communicate trends to executive leadership
  • Lead annual quality and safety reviews and advise on policy and procedure updates
  • Lead ISO readiness assessments and assist in planning for future certification
  • Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe or nonconforming conditions are observed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Company Management
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Quality Assurance, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in construction, commissioning, TAB, QA/QC, or safety management
  • OSHA 30 and strong knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • Ability to visit construction sites to conduct field quality and safety assessments
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, auditing, and implementing quality and safety policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with commissioning and TAB processes
  • Experience in regulated environments (life sciences, healthcare, data centers) preferred
  • Familiarity with NEBB, AABC, TABB, or similar standards preferred
  • Exposure to ISO 9001 systems preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence field teams and leadership
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to project software preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record
