Quality Engineering, QA Specialist / Manager
Quality Manager position available in the Bristol, Indiana area.
Direct hire opportunity with our client who is a leading manufacturer. Salary range $80k to $88k DOE. Schedule will be M-F, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with the ability to work Saturday when needed, 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The Quality Manager oversees the plant’s Quality Management System. This hands-on leader partners with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production to prevent defects, drive root cause solutions, improve processes, and resolve warranty issues with lasting engineering and production fixes. Success requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to balance quality, safety, and production demands.
Quality Manager key responsibilities:
- Own and maintain the plant QMS, procedures, and compliance (DOT, FMVSS, ISO, internal standards)
- Lead internal and external audits
- Monitor and improve quality metrics (defects, scrap, rework, warranty)
- Embed quality into manufacturing through inspection, control, and testing plans
- Lead nonconformance management, quality holds, and dispositions
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Resolve internal defects, customer complaints, and warranty issues
- Support new product launches and engineering changes
- Oversee supplier quality, audits, and incoming inspection strategies
- Lead and develop Quality team members, fostering accountability and shared ownership of quality and safety
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related) or equivalent experience
- 5+ years quality experience in manufacturing (fabrication, welding, or assembly preferred)
- Experience with root cause analysis, SPC, corrective action, and audits
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
Preferred:
- Trailer, vehicle, or heavy equipment manufacturing experience
- DOT, FMVSS, and ISO 9001 knowledge
- CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma certification
