What

You’ll Do
  • Interpret part drawings or models and convert design specifications into inspection and test methods using industry standard GD&T methodology.
  • Perform inspections and tests on incoming materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, such as hard gages, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, hardness testers, and CMM’s to conduct efficient and accurate part measurement.
  • Assist in the validation and verification of new product designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Understand and apply basic calibration methods on assorted sizes and types of hand measurement tools, scales, attribute gages, mechanical, and electrical measurement equipment.
  • Identify gages needing repair; perform preventive maintenance, basic repairs, or schedule third party servicing of specific gage types.
  • Create and manage documents such as work instructions, quality alerts, problem tracking sheets, etc.
  • Perform product and system audits across the operations to support ISO
    9001:2015 certification.
  • Apply basic problem solving skills to support improvements in quality and productivity.
  • Participate in Kazen projects and other strategic initiatives as prioritized by the business.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data and other records for work performed.
What We’re Looking For
  • Prior experience in a similar quality, manufacturing, or engineering technician role.
  • 3-5 years of practical application of GD&T standards in an automotive, commercial, or aerospace manufacturing facility performing surface plate based or similar dimensional inspection.
  • Proficiency using a wide range of measurement tools.
  • Ability to interpret part drawings, material, and engineering specifications.
  • A strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO
    9001, AS9100, ISO
    13485, ISO
    16949, ISO
    31000)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
    Six-Sigma, Lean, TPS exposure preferred.
  • Attention to detail and deep commitment to continual improvement.
  • Effective verbal, written and digital communicator.
  • Highly collaborative, with firm team-building approach.
  • Experience with process capability tools and/or statistical analysis (preferred).
  • Ability to write part inspection programs using PC-DMIS/Hexagon software (highly desired).
