At Autocar, quality isn’t just a checkpoint, it’s a commitment. We’re looking for a Quality Manager (QA/QC) to lead and elevate quality performance across our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent product quality, driving continuous improvement, and building a strong quality culture across the plant.

You will lead a team of quality professionals and work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain to resolve issues, improve processes, and deliver reliable, high‑quality products to our customers.

What You Will Own
  • Lead all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across the plant
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Establish and maintain inspection standards, testing procedures, and quality systems
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality is embedded in design, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and reduce defects and scrap
  • Lead internal and external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer standards
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of quality engineers and inspectors
  • Oversee calibration systems and testing equipment reliability

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, Quality, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in quality within a manufacturing environment
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001, IATF/TS16949 (preferred)
  • Familiarity with tools such as SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, RCA, CAPA

Work Environment
  • Primarily based in a manufacturing plant, with some office work
  • Exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
  • Occasional travel for supplier visits and audits
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to wear required PPE (respirators, safety gear, etc.)
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain active throughout the shift
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and using inspection tools
  • Visual acuity for reading blueprints and performing inspections
