WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Perform inspections and tests on incoming or in-process materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, such as hard gauges, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, hardness testers, and CMMs to conduct efficient and accurate part measurement.
- Assist in the validation and verification of new product designs and manufacturing processes.
- Support the operations team with gap analysis and root cause identification and application of basic problem solving with appropriate quality assurance tools.
- Perform detailed process audits and drive targeted improvement actions through coaching of others or direct ownership of the resolution.
- Provide technical support to engineering and production teams to ensure compliance to quality standards.
- Assist or lead supplier management activities such as corrective actions and product validation.
- Maintain accurate and timely data and other records for work performed.
- Where skill gaps exist, learn through training or OJT, processes such as calibration, CMM programming, and quality system auditing.
- Prior experience in a similar quality, manufacturing, or engineering technician role is required.
- Proficiency using a wide range of measurement tools.
- Ability to interpret part drawings, material, and engineering specifications.
- A strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO
9001, AS9100, ISO
13485, ISO
16949, ISO
31000). - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
Six‑Sigma, Lean, TPS exposure preferred. - Attention to detail and deep commitment to continual improvement.
- Effective verbal, written and digital communicator.
- Highly collaborative, with firm team‑building approach.
- Experience with process capability tools and/or statistical analysis (preferred).
- Ability to write part inspection programs using PC‑DMIS/Hexagon software (highly desired).
