Lead Biochemist – Quality Control

Job Summary

Support bioassay testing and equipment maintenance while ensuring compliance, documentation accuracy, and team development.

• Perform bioassays, cell passages, media/buffer preparation, equipment calibrations, and sanitization; maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization.
• Enter and verify data, review qualification protocols and logbook entries, support deviation investigations and change controls.
• Troubleshoot instrument-related issues and act as a technical resource; interact with customers, vendors, and support groups to resolve qualification and operational issues.
• Coach and develop team members; monitor workflow to meet turnaround times, conduct performance reviews, and manage training and succession planning.
• Work closely with leadership and clients to implement business directives and drive operational improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences (e.g., chemistry, physics) or related field and 4+ years of relevant laboratory experience (bioassays, cell passages, media/buffer preparation).
• Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without restriction or need for sponsorship.
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills; ability to learn new techniques, troubleshoot instruments, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; experience with equipment qualification, maintenance, and documentation.
• Proven leadership with a focus on team development, engagement, morale, and retention; able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, adaptable, proactive, and solution‑oriented; strong focus on quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.

• Position is Thursday to Monday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm; overtime as needed.
• May be requested to work on weekends, overtime, and holidays based on business needs.
