About the Job
As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Quality Team meets all key performance indicators (KPIs) and complies with our Quality Plan and applicable regulatory requirements. Your work will involve ensuring that spare parts received into the facility meet Alfa Laval standards, customer expectations, and federal regulations, contributing to the overall success and growth of the organization.
Responsibilities- Program Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex-121210 Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) for spare part inspection in compliance with the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation, Buy America CFR, and applicable Alfa Laval and Military Standard specifications.
- Design Quality Inspection Plans for manual hand‑tool inspection of spare parts in compliance with the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation, Buy America CFR, and applicable Alfa Laval and Military Standard specifications.
- Complete weld inspection according to ANSI/ASNT CP‑105 (Standard Topical Outlines for Qualification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel).
- Cross‑train Quality Technicians on use of the CMM and hand‑tools for spare part inspections.
- Audit CMM inspections and applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); continuously improve CMM programs and SOPs for effectiveness.
- Complete time studies as needed and forecast labor hours for projected work.
- Support Quality Technicians during inspection and backfill where required.
- Use Lean Six Sigma tools within the Alfa Laval Performance System to improve safety, quality, delivery, and costs in all areas of the Quality department.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or similar, trade school, or relevant experience.
- Proficiency with hand measuring tools.
- Certified Weld Inspector certification or Welders Workmanship Training certificate (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of WMS and Movex.
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs.
- Prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Lean Six‑Sigma improvement tools including 5S, DMAIC, Kaizen, and SOP’s.
