JobOverview
You will be responsible for managing supplier quality as it relates to daily production. This includes investigating suspect material, ensuring proper processing of rejected material, administering SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request), RMA’s, scrap procedures, and daily checks of multiple reject areas. You will tag suspect parts appropriately and work with Materials to move those materials to the reject area.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Act as the specific subject matter expert (SME) and owner of the documented process.
- Identify opportunities to improve accuracy and the overall process.
- Work closely with the operations manager to identify, report, and solve problems.
- Optimize and organize reject quarantine area based on point of use and volume.
- Drive “Plan for Every Part” transformation and mentality as it relates to suspect material and its proper handling.
- Communicate clear instructions to team members.
- Create and maintain hourly/daily/weekly/monthly metrics and report daily on the same.
- 3 years of relevant work experience in a quality‑related field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people and functions.
- Confidence, presence, and credibility to command the respect of colleagues and senior stakeholders, especially within operational departments.
- Adaptable and flexible—open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances.
- Organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MRP system proficiency.
- Capable of wearing task‑specific personal protective equipment, which may include a dust mask, air‑purifying respirator (half or full faced), safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
- Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines.
- While performing the duties of this job, you must stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.
This role will be located onsite at our Hagerstown, IN facility.
