2nd Shift Glass Inspector
Hours:
2:00 PM – 10:30 PMPay Rate: $15.75 per hour
The 2nd Shift Glass Inspector is responsible for carefully inspecting production areas and products for glass or other foreign-material hazards and ensure that the quality and food-safety standards are consistently maintained. This position requires excellent attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to remain focused in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform routine inspections of production areas, equipment, containers, and product for potential glass hazards.
- Inspect bottles, jars, containers, and surrounding production areas for cracks, chips, breaks, or other defects.
- Identify and report any glass contamination or potential foreign-material concerns immediately.
- Follow Red Gold’s established glass and foreign-material inspection procedures.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, and required documentation.
- Monitor production areas for compliance with food-safety and quality requirements.
- Communicate quality or food-safety concerns to supervisors and Quality Assurance personnel.
- Assist with corrective actions when glass or other foreign-material concerns are identified.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food-safety procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work closely with production and Quality Assurance employees to help maintain product quality.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform additional quality-control duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, quality-control, inspection, or food-processing experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent visual observation skills.
- Ability to identify small defects and potential glass hazards.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and documentation skills.
- Basic computer skills are helpful.
- Must be dependable and able to work independently when required.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Willingness to follow all food‑safety, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle inspection materials and equipment.
- Ability to work around production equipment and machinery.
- Ability to wear required PPE and GMP attire.
- Must be able to work in a food-processing/manufacturing environment.
- May be required to work overtime, weekends, or a flexible schedule based on production needs.
