2nd Shift Glass Inspector

Hours:

2:00 PM – 10:30 PMPay Rate: $15.75 per hour

Position Summary

The 2nd Shift Glass Inspector is responsible for carefully inspecting production areas and products for glass or other foreign-material hazards and ensure that the quality and food-safety standards are consistently maintained. This position requires excellent attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to remain focused in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections of production areas, equipment, containers, and product for potential glass hazards.
  • Inspect bottles, jars, containers, and surrounding production areas for cracks, chips, breaks, or other defects.
  • Identify and report any glass contamination or potential foreign-material concerns immediately.
  • Follow Red Gold’s established glass and foreign-material inspection procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, and required documentation.
  • Monitor production areas for compliance with food-safety and quality requirements.
  • Communicate quality or food-safety concerns to supervisors and Quality Assurance personnel.
  • Assist with corrective actions when glass or other foreign-material concerns are identified.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food-safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work closely with production and Quality Assurance employees to help maintain product quality.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform additional quality-control duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, quality-control, inspection, or food-processing experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent visual observation skills.
  • Ability to identify small defects and potential glass hazards.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic reading, writing, and documentation skills.
  • Basic computer skills are helpful.
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently when required.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Willingness to follow all food‑safety, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle inspection materials and equipment.
  • Ability to work around production equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and GMP attire.
  • Must be able to work in a food-processing/manufacturing environment.
  • May be required to work overtime, weekends, or a flexible schedule based on production needs.
