Investments Intern What makes a real estate investment a great opportunity? As an Investments Intern at Flaherty & Collins, you’ll get firsthand exposure to the financial analysis, market research, and strategic thinking that go into answering that question.

Working alongside our Development, Acquisitions, and Asset Management teams, you’ll contribute to the analysis of ground-up multifamily development opportunities, potential acquisitions, and the ongoing performance of stabilized properties. You’ll work with real financial models, market data, budgets, and investment assumptions while learning how those pieces come together to support important business decisions.

This is an opportunity to move beyond the classroom and gain practical experience in the business of multifamily real estate.

What You’ll Do:

Conduct investment analysis for potential multifamily acquisition and development opportunities.

Develop and maintain detailed financial models incorporating financing structures, project budgets, and operating projections.

Support due diligence efforts by analyzing market trends, zoning and entitlement requirements, construction costs, and lease-up assumptions.

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform rent projections, operating expense benchmarks, and supply and demand dynamics.

Assist in preparing investment memoranda, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders, lenders, and equity partners.

Collaborate with Development, Construction, Acquisitions, and Asset Management teams to support project strategy and financial objectives.

Monitor project budgets and timelines while helping identify potential risks, cost overruns, and opportunities for mitigation.

Analyze project performance against initial underwriting and support reforecasting efforts during construction and lease-up.

Research capital market trends, financing structures, and underwriting standards to support project funding strategies.

Support the creation and maintenance of internal databases tracking deals, pipeline projects, market data, and historical assumptions.

Participate in meetings and discussions related to prospective and existing multifamily investments.

Gain on-site exposure to existing and prospective Flaherty & Collins properties.

Assist with additional investment, development, and asset management projects as needed.
