Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Indianapolis

We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Scientist to join at IQVIA Labs. This is not a pure research role; it is a technical problem‑solving role. You will be the "go-to" person when instrumentation fails or data looks abnormal, responsible for troubleshooting assays and ensuring the validity of analytical runs.

You will support Method Validation for small molecule assays (LC‑MS/MS), executing complex extractions from biological matrices and ensuring data integrity.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Serving as the technical lead for the Validation team, specifically focusing on troubleshooting assays and root cause analysis when instrumentation fails or data abnormalities occur.
  • Designing experiments and runs to support the validation of small molecule assays; you will focus on Method Validation and adaptation rather than pure Method Development.
  • Performing and documenting complex analytical procedures using LC‑MS/MS, including extraction (Liquid‑Liquid Extraction, Protein Precipitation) from biological matrices (plasma, serum, tissue) in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Analyzing data, identifying deviations, and ensuring accurate upload to the LIMS system. You will be responsible for reviewing data from failed runs and proposing technical solutions.
  • Leading Quality Investigations and ensuring all work meets GLP regulatory standards.
  • Overseeing the technology transfer of methods and SOPs across departments to ensure scalability and sustainability.
What We’re Looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline
  • 4+ years in a lab with strong proficiency in LC‑MS/MS operation and maintenance.
  • Deep familiarity with extracting small molecules (LLE, PPT) from biological matrices.
  • Strong practical knowledge of operating and troubleshooting LC‑MS/MS and Mass Spec instrumentation.
Knowledge and Skills You’ll Need:
  • A "troubleshooter" mindset; the ability to look beyond the result to diagnose the root cause (instrument vs. science) and propose independent solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate complex data issues to cross‑functional teams and ensure smooth method transfers
  • The ability to make data‑driven decisions on run validity and experimental design independently
  • The resilience to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment where priorities can shift quickly.
  • A natural orientation toward detail and precision
