Summary

Company is seeking motivated candidates with strong organizational skills to join our dynamic Crop Protection Discovery Group, as a Laboratory Technician within the Biology Mode of Action and Bioanalytical Center of Expertise team. The biologist will contribute to our goal of providing novel, sustainable solutions to benefit farmers and consumers. The successful candidate must also be able to work in a team environment, across scientific disciplines, and be capable of clearly communicating to stakeholders.

Job Duties
  • This position involves working in a laboratory setting, conducting experiments, handling laboratory equipment and is 100% site–based.
  • Routine research laboratory activities may vary based on the different CPD&D areas.
  • Supports cell culture work, media preparation, microbiology activities, and aseptic technique.
  • Follows instructions/methods and a workflow chart to its conclusion.
  • Demonstrates strong organization, time management, and communication skills, and works successfully in a dynamic group environment.
  • Manages daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory activities, such as monitoring equipment, periodic laboratory cleaning, managing central supply stocks/reagents, laboratory waste, and general lab maintenance.
  • Documents work in an electronic laboratory notebook.
  • Possesses an understanding of the Corteva Agriscience safety culture, including personal protective equipment and waste streams.

Must Have
  • B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field (preferably life sciences, agriculture, plant science, etc.).
  • 6+ months of experience working in a laboratory setting performing cell culture (school or professional).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to analyze and interpret data using various software tools.
Nice To Have
  • Experience with data entry and data management.
  • Cell culture and aseptic technique experience.
  • Experience preparing media recipes.
  • Experience with microbiology.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $20.00/hr.
