Job Responsibilities

  • Independently initiate and perform LC-MS analyses according to validated methods and protocols.

  • Execute complex analyses using evolving techniques and technologies; seek scientific input when needed.

  • Document experimental work, maintain accurate laboratory records, and ensure compliance with data integrity standards. Perform quality control (QC) data review when appropriate.

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including setup, calibration, and general upkeep as outlined in SOPs.

  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues; coordinate repairs or service requests when necessary.

  • Collaborate in team or project meetings; contribute to planning, execution, and oversight of project timelines and deliverables.

  • Communicate any issues or deviations that may impact data quality to project leads or management; participate in the resolution process.

  • Support a team-based work environment by coordinating daily tasks and effectively managing multiple priorities.

  • Proactively address technical problems by designing and executing troubleshooting experiments and offering interpretation of results.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff and offer support in method development and technical training.

  • May lead process optimization initiatives and contribute to the improvement of laboratory workflows.

  • Ensure laboratory safety by adhering to health, safety, and compliance policies; maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Contribute to the creation or peer review of SOPs, policies, and procedural guides.

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for LC-MS platforms, including HPLC and mass spectrometry systems.

  • Engage in client communications during technical discussions or facility visits.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related scientific discipline.

  • 4 years of relevant laboratory experience, including extensive hands‑on use of HPLC and mass spectrometry systems.
