Post-Doctoral Scientist – Fixed Duration Employment – Investigative Toxicology (Immune-Mediated Drug-Induced Liver Injury)
We are seeking an ambitious post‑doctoral scientist with strong research and communication skills to contribute to a high‑visibility research program focused on predicting immune‑mediated liver injury (iDILI) before it reaches patients. Your work will advance human‑relevant New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) to detect and predict iDILI, potentially transforming the drug development process.
Responsibilities- Investigate how interactions between liver biology and the immune system contribute to drug‑induced liver injury.
- Build and apply human‑relevant model systems that integrate liver and immune biology into a mechanistically informed, predictive safety platform.
- Identify key needs across drug development and champion creative, evidence‑based solutions.
- Maintain external awareness of emerging technologies to benefit the organization.
- Present findings at conferences and publish in high‑quality peer‑reviewed journals.
- PhD in immunology, toxicology, cell biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or a closely related life science field (degree conferred or expected before the start date).
- Strong foundation in immunology, cell biology, or mechanistic toxicology.
- Demonstrated ability to design experiments, learn new approaches, and solve problems independently.
- Track record of peer‑reviewed publications in toxicology, immunology, or liver biology, with preference for work directly relevant to DILI or immune‑mediated organ toxicity.
- Self‑directed and highly motivated, with a strong publication record.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with primary mammalian cell culture and in vitro model systems.
- Interest or background in liver biology, immune cell biology, antigen presentation, or drug metabolism.
- Familiarity with complex cell models, co‑culture systems, or organ‑on‑chip approaches is a plus.
