Biologist; Cell Culture

Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

This Biologist will plan, organize, and independently conduct complex experiments and assist in the interpretation and recommend changes to scientific protocols and procedures.

• Work independently following instructions or scientific protocols
• Maintain the infrastructure of the laboratory and an organized, clean and safe working environment
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazard materials and/or hazardous chemicals
• Collaborate and present results during team or project meetings
• Contribute to report writing and other publications
• Prepare SOPs/working procedures
• Perform data analysis and propose design of next experiments
• Contribute to troubleshooting activities
• Work according to external and internal guidelines (e.g. SOPs, GxP, HSE, and AW)
• Perform basic lab testing, including:

• Mammalian cell culture and transfection, either suspension or adherent
• Aseptic Techniques
• Buffer and Media Prep
• 96‑well plate‑based cellular assays
• Cell banking
• Basic bacterial growth, isolation, and transformation
• RNA/DNA Extraction
• Optimization studies
• Method and assay development

• BS in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related science
• 0-2+ years of related lab experience
• Mammalian cell culture experience
• RNA/DNA extraction experience
• Preferred:
  Media and buffer preparation experience
