Position Purpose
Drives business results, directs team talent, supports store leadership team and ensures delivery of the legendary L.L.Bean customer experience within an outdoor lifestyle concept retail store. Responsibilities- Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient stock room while adhering to operating standards and safety requirements. Manage inbound freight processing per SOP and productivity guidelines, completing all shipments within 24 hours of delivery. Collaborate with other leaders to replenish sales floor stock and push replenishment truck product to the floor. Oversee and manage the return processes, assigning the proper quality codes.
Execute store-to-store/store-to‑warehouse transfers in a timely manner. Handle all aspects of omni‑channel business, including FES orders, phone call management, and RIO’s per guidelines. Adhere to all loss prevention policies and procedures, inspecting the back‑of‑house and sales floor space for compliance. Model safe behaviors, evaluate risk, and ensure risks are reduced to acceptable levels; may act as safety contact or liaison. - Customer Experience: Model and foster a service‑driven environment. Enthusiastically seek opportunities to convert every customer that enters the store, continually striving to drive sales and brand loyalty through great service. Rally the rep team towards shared objectives and act as Leader on Duty as scheduled to drive conversion and sales. Leverage business reports (Qualtrics, variance reporting, merch group sales) to analyze trends, understand wins, and identify opportunities.
Build compelling actions to enhance customer loyalty and improve service metrics through introspective business analysis and strong acumen skills. Execute and implement all recognition programs including living the legend efforts and in‑store contests. Review all forward‑looking business events (holidays, promotional weekends, market trends). Develop meaningful activations and selling efforts to drive even greater sales results. Ensure that the sales floor is full, and all sizes are represented by performing regular size audits.
Ensure the highest level of fitting room service is occurring, driving conversion and UPT. - Training: Support and train associates, communicating standards and processes, company policies and procedures. Deliver GUIDE training for new hires and ongoing GUIDE training efforts for year‑round team members in conjunction with the exempt leader team. Ensure all guides are performing at a high level and that 30‑day/ongoing assessments are completed. Direct, develop, and manage store champions (buddies) and experts. Facilitate all new‑hire product training modules for store or area of responsibility and develop a strategy and execution plan for delivering all seasonal product training materials.
Maintain and manage all employee‑facing communication, including break room messaging and communication boards. Ensure start‑up meetings are occurring and that content is compelling and inspiring. Model inclusive and fair hiring practices; foster an inclusive work environment by seeking team members’ perspectives, actively listening, and encouraging respectful communication. - Total Store Accountability: Aid in the achievement of all financial measures as well as area‑specific metrics. Serve as key holder as required, potentially acting as opener/closer for the store. Prepare and communicate daily task responsibilities to staff. Leverage knowledge and strengths to foster growth and development of the team. Recommend adjustments to staffing levels/schedules to meet work requirements. Address and respond to employee issues/conflicts within defined parameters in accordance with company policies and procedures under direction of supervisor.
