Customer Service Representative

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Customer Satisfaction:
  Provides prompt excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly and attentive manner. Greets customers as they enter and thanks them as they leave. Gives assistance and offers suggestions or recommendations. Rings up all sales on cash register properly and accurately, handling money, checks, and other types of payment.
• Facility Condition:
  Maintains store facility and equipment to company and brand standards. Performs cleaning duties, basic upkeep of all equipment, inspects for safety and cleanliness, and reports maintenance or supply needs.
• Merchandising:
  Completes build‑to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise, receives and verifies vendor deliveries, maintains adequate stock and rotates properly, and places advertising and pricing signage inside or outside the facility.
• Sales Controls:
  Controls merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses; assists in maintaining inventory levels and shift audits.
• Financial Controls:
  Keeps accurate cash, sales, and inventory control records and accounts for variances; follows guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
• Security Controls:
  Reports all incidents—employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or unsafe conduct—to the Store Manager.
• Administrative:
  Keeps accurate records of all shift and timekeeping paperwork; takes inventory of supplies; attends required meetings; provides regular and predictable onsite attendance; performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales preferred.
• Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment (cash registers, scanners, beverage dispensers, money‑order machines, telecom transactions, etc.).
• Ability to work as scheduled, including arriving on time.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred.
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below.
• Ability to work in the conditions described below.

Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes while performing occasional work in a walk‑in cooler or freezer and outdoors. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead and up to 50 pounds from ground to waist. Ability to grasp, reach, manipulate objects with hands, push or pull with up to 20 pounds, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and squat.

Ability to work alone, work in noise, stand or walk for the entire shift, and climb a ladder when necessary.

Approximately 95% of work is performed indoors; however, the employee will be required to clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc. Exposure to extreme cold temperatures during occasional cooler or freezer work and to noise. Work is done with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
