Overview

McKim's IGA is seeking friendly, dependable, and customer‑focused individuals to join our team as Cashiers. Cashiers are responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, and helping create a positive shopping experience for every customer.

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Accurately scan and process customer purchases.
• Handle cash, credit card, EBT, and other forms of payment.
• Balance cash drawer and maintain transaction accuracy.
• Assist customers with questions and direct them to products throughout the store.
• Bag groceries and assist customers as needed.
• Keep checkout areas clean, organized, and well‑stocked.
• Assist with stocking, facing merchandise, and general housekeeping duties when needed.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures.
• Monitor and replenish front‑end supplies such as bags and receipt paper.
• Help create a positive shopping experience that encourages customers to return.

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to provide friendly and professional customer service.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Previous retail or cashier experience is helpful but not required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
