This salesperson will have the official title of 'Regional Sales Manager', and is responsible for selling Motive products throughout Greater Indianapolis. The RSM will reach business targets through effective management of designated territories and physical visits to customer sites.
The primary focus of this position is to sell Motive Power products (forklift truck batteries and chargers, service, preventative maintenance contracts, etc.) but also sell deep cycle batteries and battery test equipment.
This is a territory based position, working with clients throughout the Indianapolis market, getting to know dealers, partners, and networking.
This is a very hands on sales role - actively being on site, knowing the equipment, handling a multimeter, and presenting technical information.
Responsibilities:- Travel to customer locations within region for existing and prospective customers (Only within Indiana)
- Perform professional presentations or demonstrations of company products/services while on-site
- Emphasize products/service features and benefits, quote prices, and discuss credit terms
- Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth
- Provide basic technical support on products/services and provide customers a solution-oriented approach in specifying products for the customers' application
- Analyze data to provide feedback, recommend areas for operational improvement, or recommend appropriate technical solutions
- Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue including cold calls
- Ensure follow-up by utilizing company CRM System to document sales activity, generate quotes, etc.
- Maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner
- Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner
- Use marketing data with applicable sales management software tools to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness
- Experience generating and maintaining relationships with sales leads
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Material handling (forklift) industry experience preferred
- Battery and charger product experience
- Engineered solution and solutions selling experience a strong plus
- Three years of direct work experience in an external sales capacity required
- Competitive compensation (50k-70k base) with commission potential uncapped!
