Strategic Client Manager – Overview
The Strategic Client Manager is a key member of the CARFAX team, representing the brand and products to top automotive dealer groups and serving as the primary executive-level point of contact for corporate dealership customers. The role focuses on building strong, mutually beneficial relationships and driving new business opportunities.
Responsibilities- Build relationships at all corporate levels of influence within the assigned customer base (President, CFO, COO, VP Marketing, CTO, E‑commerce).
- Cultivate new business development opportunities.
- Act as the organizational leader by coordinating all aspects of client interaction across internal and customer-facing teams.
- Review and analyze customer performance data and metrics.
- Manage all phases of new onboarding: implementation, deliverables, and training.
- Respond rapidly to customer needs and provide exceptional levels of customer service.
- 10+ years of automotive account management experience.
- Demonstrated ability in developing relationships at the corporate level within top dealer groups.
- Strong collaboration skills and proven ability to build relationships internally.
- Proven ability in value creation and account planning.
- Ability to run agenda‑driven meetings virtually or in person.
- Focus on a great customer experience with attention to detail in ongoing account management efforts.
- Knowledge of dealer management software systems (plus).
- Strategic thinker and problem solver.
- Willing and able to travel up to 50%.
Annual base salary range: $100,000 – $160,000, with additional incentive and long‑term compensation options available.
