Job Overview
A Strategic Business Development Director will develop new commercial opportunities and form new partnerships using a consultative sales approach. The role is responsible for creating and sustaining strategic relationships and alliances with strategic accounts, proactively developing a sales strategy, and seeking contract-level agreements. The candidate will represent TRIMEDX and act as the primary customer point of contact, providing feedback to management, product teams, and marketing while embodying core values.
Location& Travel
Must currently reside in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina or Georgia with close proximity to a major airport. Travel nationally up to 50% and frequent local/overnight travel expected.
Responsibilities- Customer Relationships – 50%:
Define target markets, build penetration plans, and create account plans; utilize marketing campaigns, trade shows, and call plans to develop relationships with chief officers and department heads; research market trends; maintain high customer satisfaction; build long‑term strategic alliances; negotiate and close business opportunities. - Negotiate and Close Business Opportunities – 30%:
Utilize sales process to define needs, forecast sales, create opportunity qualification documentation, demonstrate sales cycle control, collaborate on solution‑based proposals, schedule and deliver proposals, present to external buying committees, and apply closing and negotiating techniques. - Leadership, Coaching, and Development – 20%:
Coordinate responsibilities, provide leadership, coaching, and resources to inspire strong customer service and teamwork; model core values; engage in community involvement; share job knowledge and provide continual professional development; perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum 10 years of business experience, with 5+ years in business development or account management.
- Strong knowledge of Clinical Engineering & Medical Device management preferred.
- Proven ability to develop and manage a robust pipeline and control the sales cycle.
- Track record of creating opportunities and closing significant revenue‑generating sales.
- Excellent influencing, interpersonal, networking, and presentation skills.
- Ability to present ideas to customers with impact.
- Prior experience closing large, complex, strategic deals.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentational skills.
- Strong customer focus and ability to travel up to 50% nationally.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare management, or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- MBA preferred.
