Your Role: US Pet Health Veterinary District Sales Manager

As a District Sales Manager, you will coach and lead a district of approximately 10 territories in the US Pet Health Veterinary Sales Organization. In this role, your leadership will be critical to the success of Elanco as the Pet Health organization embarks on a historic launch period.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, and select a high-performing team of representatives to represent Elanco’s companion animal products and direct strategic partner efforts.
  • Achieve specified District sales objectives across all product categories while managing and utilizing resources to accomplish planned objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans for corporate veterinary account headquarters and strategic partners within the district’s defined geography.
  • Analyze and evaluate reporting metrics to ensure optimal placement and utilization of resources for maximum business results.
  • Implement marketing plans through representatives to key veterinary hospitals and across all channel partners.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma / GED with equivalent level of experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of at least 5 years animal health sales experience and/or previous experience managing a sales team

  • Strong coaching and leadership skills to deliver maximum results;
    Must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.

  • In-depth knowledge of companion animal veterinary products and market landscape.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to make decisions within the context of uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • Experience with performance management, succession planning, and channel partner development.
  • Advanced degree in business or experience as a sales trainer.

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $114,600 to $197,700 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits;

eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).
