BASIC FUNCTIONS:

The Sales Manager is responsible for generating conference business from a national market, maximization of sales, development of potential markets, and sound administration of assigned responsibilities through sensible delegation and personal attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
  • Minimum (2) two years of college, degree desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Prefer experience in hotel sales or related industry.
  • Aggressive, outgoing, and self-motivating individual with pleasant personality.
  • Employment contingent on favorable background investigation and drug screen.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age to work in the Casino in a non-sensitive area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Makes personal visits, when necessary, to target areas and calls on companies and associations located in a specific market or area.
  • Books meetings, conferences, and social guests from assigned areas.
  • Dedicates majority of time to direct telephone sales.
  • Reworks and maintains old account files and solicits new accounts.
  • Responds to all correspondence from assigned areas and traces dates for reworking and follow up.
  • Attends trade shows pertinent to assigned areas and attends meetings, seminars, and functions through membership in association.
  • Performs general office duties and assists other personnel, as required.
  • Maintains a constant contact with corporate and association meeting planners; maintains membership and contacts in hotel industry associations.
  • Maintains a working relationship with departments interacting with convention groups.
  • Develops new accounts by being inquisitive of accounts we have for "spin off".
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and makes recommendations of changes which would affect operations.
  • Maintains accurate forecast and recap information.
  • Sets-up and conducts site inspections for entire property.
  • Performs other duties as reasonably requested by Management.
