Position SummaryThe Client is seeking a Director of Sales to lead commercial growth and build the sales organization for the future. This individual will work directly with ownership to establish sales strategy, develop new business opportunities, expand market share, and create the processes and infrastructure necessary to support long-term growth.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for a proven builder. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record of growing manufacturing businesses, developing sales teams, and driving measurable revenue growth. The Client is looking for someone who can bring a proven playbook, take ownership of execution, and serve as the organization's sales expert while partnering closely with ownership on strategic direction.
Initially, the Director of Sales will focus heavily on the Client's Tool & Die and precision manufacturing operations before expanding responsibility across the broader organization and commercial strategy.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy & Business Growth
- Partner with ownership to develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy focused on revenue growth, customer diversification, and new market penetration.
- Drive hunter-oriented business development efforts and secure new customer relationships.
- Identify opportunities within existing and emerging markets and help shape the company's long-term commercial direction.
- Establish measurable sales goals, forecasting processes, pipeline management, and performance metrics.
- Leverage existing marketing resources and qualified lead generation efforts to convert opportunities into revenue.
- Build the sales organization from the ground up.
- Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop future sales team members.
- Establish scalable sales processes, reporting structures, and accountability measures.
- Create the foundation for a future sales team consisting of internal sales professionals and external sales partners.
- Develop relationships with OEMs, strategic accounts, and key decision-makers.
- Lead complex technical sales conversations and long-cycle manufacturing sales opportunities.
- Expand business within existing customer accounts while pursuing new customer acquisition.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between customer requirements and operational capabilities.
- Work closely with estimating, engineering, operations, and executive leadership to support growth initiatives.
- Develop strong internal relationships and build credibility throughout the organization.
- Serve as the commercial voice of the business while helping align sales efforts with operational execution.
- Proven experience building, leading, and scaling sales organizations within manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated success developing sales processes, sales teams, and growth strategies.
- Strong track record of measurable sales performance supported by data-driven results and documented achievements.
