Graduates receive an engineering degree in Physics, with education and research conducted at the UM6P Institute of Applied Physics and MARI-SPACE.

About MARI-SPACE:
The Morocco Aerospace Research Institute (MARI-SPACE) serves as the national hub for aerospace innovation, fostering cutting‑edge research, international collaboration, and technological development to support Morocco’s expanding space sector.

Position Overview

We invite applications for one faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in one of the following specialized areas:

Cosmology and Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB):

  • Study of the large‑scale structure, evolution, and dynamics of the universe
  • Research on cosmic microwave background radiation, cosmic inflation, and early universe physics
  • Contributions to theoretical and observational cosmology, including analysis of data from space and ground‑based telescopes

Earth Science and Climate Change:

  • Monitoring and modeling Earth’s climate system using satellite remote sensing and sensor networks
  • Assessment and prediction of natural hazards such as earthquakes, wildfires, droughts, and extreme weather
  • Research on the interactions of atmospheric, oceanic, and terrestrial processes and their impact on climate change

Planetary and Exoplanet Exploration and Astrobiology:

  • Investigation of planetary geology, atmospheres, and habitability within the solar system
  • Characterization of exoplanets, including atmospheric composition and potential biosignatures
  • Research on the origins, evolution, and detection of life beyond Earth

Astrophysics and Galactic/Extragalactic Studies:

  • Study of galaxy formation and evolution, star formation, and interstellar medium dynamics
  • Research on compact objects such as black holes and neutron stars
  • Exploration of dark matter, dark energy, and their effects on cosmic structures

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct cutting‑edge research in the chosen field and contribute to UM6P’s scientific community
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses aligned with your expertise
  • Supervise and mentor students in research projects and theses
  • Foster interdisciplinary collaborations and engage with external partners

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Astrophysics, Cosmology, Earth Science, Planetary Science, Astrobiology, or related fields
  • Strong publication record demonstrating expertise in the chosen research area
  • Proven teaching experience and ability to develop innovative curricula
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills for interdisciplinary research
