Reserve Deputies include a variety of professionals including nurses, teachers, firefighters, EMTs, accountants, investment brokers and people who own their own businesses. Reserve officers have the same police powers and are issued the same equipment as MCSO Deputies. The Reserve Division has its own rank structure and deputies are provided the same in‑service training as Deputies. A fleet of cars is assigned to the Reserve Division and deputies receive a vehicle based upon the amount of time donated to the department, their availability and their performance.
