Hours:
Three, 12‑hour shifts from 6:00pm - 6:00am. Working every other weekend. On‑call days.
Our Security Officers serve to provide an overall environment of safety and security. They support the patient delivery system, minimize disruption, render service support as needed to run hospital operations, and strive to provide an exceptional positive experience to all people. Responsibilities include critical incident management, ensuring responsible care of patient valuables, weapons control, completing property inventory logs, maintaining patient valuables, establishing an active security presence, and providing surveillance, personal escort, courier service, vehicle assistance, and inspections.
This position requires knowledge of acceptable norms within the environment and specific knowledge to respond safely and quickly to all designated Community Health Network locations.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- One year of security experience in a healthcare or related setting preferred.
- Must obtain Hazmat Certification Level 1 and Indiana License to Carry a Handgun within one year from hire.
- Ability to utilize departmental policy and the Use of Force Continuum guidelines, e.g., AIDET, AVADE de‑escalation skills, Defensive Tactics, Pepper Spray, TASER, citizen arrest.
- Assists Law Enforcement.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform basic computer functions.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment effectively.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to work under stressful situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to be detail oriented.
