This is a full-time, on-site Armed Security Guard role based in the Greater Indianapolis area. The Armed Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a visible security presence, patrolling assigned locations, monitoring access points, and deterring unlawful or unsafe activity. Daily tasks include observing and reporting incidents, responding to alarms or calls for service, and collaborating with local law enforcement when required, in accordance with company protocols and applicable laws.
The role involves conducting security checks, verifying credentials, documenting activities in accurate incident and shift reports, and communicating clearly with supervisors, clients, and team members. The Armed Security Guard is expected to use sound judgment, follow all safety and use‑of‑force guidelines, and uphold HTA Security’s standards of professionalism and integrity at all times.
- Demonstrated skills in situational awareness, threat assessment, and incident response, with the ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, visitors, and team members, including clear verbal reporting and accurate written documentation.
- Ability to follow security protocols, maintain detailed logs, and adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and client‑specific procedures.
- Training and proficiency in safe firearms handling, use‑of‑force guidelines, and de‑escalation techniques, with willingness to participate in ongoing skills training.
- Capability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including in varying weather conditions, and to respond quickly to emergencies.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism, including punctuality, appropriate appearance, and respect for confidentiality and privacy.
- Relevant security, law enforcement, or military experience is beneficial; prior work in asset protection, public safety, or private security is a plus.
- Possession of any required state security and firearms licenses or certifications, or eligibility and willingness to obtain them as mandated in Indiana.
- Ability to pass background checks and other screening processes in line with company and regulatory standards.
