Fiber Optic Technician

Overview

Full-service BICSI-certified contractor specializing in structured cabling, fiber optics, data centers, security systems, and voice/data infrastructure.

We are seeking a high-level Fiber / Structured Cabling Technician with strong hands-on experience to support projects throughout the Indianapolis area, with potential future regional travel opportunities.

This role is ideal for technicians who take pride in clean, professional installations and are comfortable working in commercial, industrial, and data center environments.

• Install, dress, and terminate fiber optic cabling (single-mode and multi-mode)
• Test and troubleshoot fiber using industry-standard tools and procedures
• Maintain clean, labeled, and well-documented fiber infrastructure

• Install and support structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A)
• Build and dress MDF/IDF rooms, racks, patch panels, ladder tray, and pathways
• Support low voltage systems including security, voice, and data as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and scope documents

• Report directly to job sites or the Wired office depending on project location
• Participate in a mandatory 1-hour safety orientation on Day 1
• Follow all safety, quality, and company standards
• Work under various project leads depending on assignment

• Technician must provide all standard tools and full PPE

Required

• Strong hands-on experience with fiber installation, termination, and splicing
• Experience dressing and terminating fiber in commercial or data center environments
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening

• Experience with Belden fiber products
• General low voltage or structured cabling experience

• Primarily Indianapolis metro area
• Potential future travel to Ohio or Missouri (optional initially and discussed in advance)
