Security Installation Technician

Job Overview

Contract to hire position located in Indianapolis, IN (fully onsite). Pay range $20.00–$21.00 per hour. The role requires installation and programming of burglar alarms, CCTV (IP & analog), DVRs, access control systems for residential customers. The candidate will receive training and perform field interactions with customers.

• Installation and programming of burglar alarms, CCTV (IP & analog), DVRs, and access control systems.
• Installing window breaks, door units, and smoke detectors.
• Troubleshooting signal issues to ensure alarm functionality.
• Performing daily hands‑on field interactions with customers at the site level.
• Testing and verifying signals for equipment.
• Training customers on equipment use and answering all questions.
• Completing necessary customer paperwork for each job.
• Costing ALL parts for each individual job installed prior to closing out job with dispatch center.
• Maintaining accurate truck inventory of products.
• Providing top‑quality customer service.
• Achieving 90% goal attainment for completed installations and zero “go‑backs.”

• Punctuality and reliable transportation (use of personal vehicle required).
• Interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Experience working with hand tools.
• Knowledge of security installation, cable, electrical, Cat6, cabling, CCTV, access control, alarm systems.
