Trailer Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled Traveling Trailer Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trailers across the United States. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while traveling.
EssentialJob Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trailers to ensure functionality and safety.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Replace parts, components, and systems as needed, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Conduct tests on repaired trailers to verify functionality and performance.
- Adhere to safety protocols and standards at all times.
- Keep detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members regarding repair timelines and job status.
- Travel to different locations as required, often on short notice.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Proven experience as a trailer mechanic or similar role, with a strong understanding of trailer systems and components.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work independently.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Up to 75% travel in the US.
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a plus.
This role is onsite and traveling to customer locations, including some nights and weekends. If the need to work remote arises, employees are expected to work in a secure location to protect company data and have stable high-speed internet.
Additional RequirementsThis is a full-time position. Employees are expected to work a general schedule of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Employees may be required to work beyond the standard schedule to meet the deliverables and expectations of the role. Employees working from home, like those in an office, should use their time wisely and constructively plan their day since there is limited daily oversight.
