Position Overview

ADB is seeking a Foreman to join our wireline team and lead the installation of fiber optic cable for various telecommunications projects. This role requires proficient manual labor skills, equipment operation, and team leadership, with a focus on safety and quality.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Provides proficient‑level manual labor and operations including hand digging, setting up traffic control, entry‑level equipment operations, and placing fiber.
  • Operates equipment, leads crews, and loads/unloads materials and equipment from vehicles at construction yards and job sites.
  • Reads utility prints and maps; performs at least one year of independent operating of various equipment (directional drill, mini, plow, hydro, etc.).
  • Supports and leads the setup and shutdown of utility construction projects, including traffic control on highways, side streets, parking lots, and downtown locations.
  • Maintains strong safety practices, proactively identifying hazards through the pre‑task process.
  • Communicates directly with customers, subcontractors, and homeowners to address complaints or issues.
  • Trains other crew members on fiber installation practices, print reading, equipment operations, OSHA requirements, and other job duties.
  • Performs OTJ training with the Senior Foreman and/or Supervisors to grow skills in the utility construction trade.
  • Performs other position duties as requested.

Work Environment
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions such as sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and climbing.
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable sounds or noise levels while on site.
  • Regular exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, humid, cold, rain, snow, and ice.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel‑toed boots when working on site.
Experience And Education
  • Minimum 2+ years of utility construction experience acting as a crew leader and/or foreman.
  • Minimum 1+ year of heavy equipment operating experience (hydro, drill, mini, plow).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • CDL license (or ability to obtain).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

The starting pay for this position is $30.00 per hour and may vary based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
