PositionSummary
Supervises and oversees the maintenance and repair tasks on trucks and trailers.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities- Supervises cross‑functional partners on mechanical work on trucks and trailers.
- Instructs mechanics on proper diagnosis of failures and correct repair practices.
- Maintains detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Performs inspections, services, and repairs on trailers.
- Uses specialized equipment to perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance work.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical issues on trailers and dollies.
- Tracks and maintains service information on all mechanic‑related activities.
- Prepares reports on maintenance activities and vehicle and equipment status.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
- Read, write, communicate, and comprehend the English language to perform job tasks, including interacting with co‑workers and the public, understanding oral and written instructions, and completing documents and reports.
- Six years of diesel mechanic experience.
- Proficiency in diagnostic software.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying of tools, parts, and equipment up to 100 pounds.
- Regular use of hands and arms for handling tools, reaching overhead, and working in tight spaces.
- Ability to climb on, under, and around large trucks and equipment safely.
- Adequate vision (with or without correction) to read gauges, manuals, and perform detailed inspections.
- Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to detect equipment sounds and follow safety signals.
33.75–38.35 per hour, based on experience.
