About the Role

Jack Laurie Group is seeking a skilled Commercial Carpenter specializing in Hardwood Flooring Installation to join our team. This role focuses exclusively on commercial projects
, including gyms, schools, athletic facilities, and other commercial environments. The ideal candidate has strong hardwood installation experience, with floor sanding and finishing experience highly valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install commercial hardwood flooring (solid and engineered systems)
  • Perform floor sanding, staining, and finishing as required
  • Repair and refinish existing commercial hardwood floors
  • Assist with basketball court and athletic flooring systems (experience preferred, not required)
  • Prepare and inspect subfloors to meet commercial standards
  • Read and interpret commercial plans, layouts, and specifications
  • Accurately measure, cut, and install materials
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional commercial jobsite
  • Work independently or within a crew to meet production schedules and quality standards
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Carpenter or Hardwood Flooring Installer
  • Strong background in commercial hardwood flooring systems
  • Floor sanding and finishing experience is a strong plus
  • Basketball court or athletic flooring experience preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of commercial tools, materials, and installation best practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot field issues and work efficiently
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Physically capable of lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
