Data Center Technician (Cable & Fiber Installation)

We are seeking hands‑on Data Center Technicians to support large‑scale data center projects in New Carlisle, IN. • Install, terminate, and decommission copper and fiber cabling systems
• Build and install server cabinets, ladder racking, and seismic bracing
• Perform cable routing, dressing, labeling, and testing
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and design documents
• Support network equipment installations and service swaps
• Maintain clean, organized, and safety‑compliant work environments
• Provide updates on project progress and collaborate with team members
• Conduct testing using tools like OTDR, DSX 5000, and Linkware
• Troubleshoot copper and fiber connectivity issues

• Experience with low‑voltage cabling (Cat5, Cat6, coax, fiber, etc.)
• Familiarity with telecom tools and wiring standards
• Ability to perform field terminations, labeling, and testing
• Experience working in data centers, construction sites, or similar environments
• Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical labor
• Ability to climb ladders, pull cable, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Understanding of wiring schemes and testing procedures

• Experience with:
  • Cable racking and infrastructure builds
  • MDF/IDF closet layout
  • Fiber splicing (fusion splice, ribbon, ISP/OSP)
  • OTDR and copper testing tools
• Knowledge of network infrastructure environments
• Familiarity with data center standards and best practices

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to follow safety protocols and industry standards
• Team‑oriented mindset with solid communication skills
• Ability to manage tasks independently and maintain organized documentation
• Customer service awareness and professionalism on‑site

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing
• Ability to work on raised floors and elevated platforms
• Capability to handle tools and technical equipment
• Comfortable working in active construction/data center environments

This is a Contract position based out of New Carlisle, IN.

The pay range for this position is $22.63 – $22.63 per hour.

This is a fully onsite position in New Carlisle, IN.
