Forklift Operator; Indianapolis

Forklift Operator $24.45 Indianapolis DC. This position does not accept rehires at this time.

Safety is always FIRST. All team members are expected to practice safety standards, policies, and procedures. All personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and boot reimbursement is available after completing your probationary period.

This position is responsible for ensuring all products and materials are loaded, unloaded, and processed through the warehouse in a timely and accurate manner using a motor‑powered forklift. Team members will be fully retrained and certified on forklift during orientation.

• At least 6 months of forklift experience within the last 12 months.
• At least 12 months of warehousing experience within the last 18 months.
• Cold storage experience preferred.
• Full range of motion of arms, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, digits, and legs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and maintain balance.
• May work with corrective lenses. Hearing protection may be provided.
• Must pass post‑offer health assessment and drug screening.

During a (12)-hour shift, you must be willing to move around the work area at a fast pace and bend, squat, lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds. Follow all Tyson policies and safety guidelines. You’ll use a handheld scanner to track products. Other job duties may be part of the routine.

• Receiver – Receives product accurately into the building using PIT.
• Put Away – Pulls product that has been received and puts it into the racking; may be required to palletize or split pallets.
• Replenisher – Pulls pallets from racking to replenish pick faces.
• Picker – (Case picker/Order Selector and full pallet picker) pulls product either in single or full palletized form to fill and build customer orders.
• Loader – Loads trucks with product efficiently, avoiding product damage or loss.

Most of the time will be driving PIT including stand‑up forklifts and reach trucks for extended times in damp and cold environments with temperatures ranging from
-5 to 30°F (up to 12 hours). You will be provided a freezer suit, hearing protection, gloves, and headwear as part of your PPE. Team members must provide their own boots and wear steel or composite toe boots that conform to ANSI 75lb or more PSI rating with a slip‑resistant sole covering the ankles (composite toe preferred). May be trained on Cherry picker for additional tasks.
