Refrigeration Technician

Our client, a leader in industrial manufacturing, is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to join their team. As a Refrigeration Technician, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting the plant operations. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Refrigeration Technician

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Pay Range: $28.00/hour

Shift Structure:

• Training: 4–8 weeks on Shift 1 (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
• Permanent Assignment:
  Shift 2 (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)

• Troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation, air, and refrigeration equipment involving ammonia or other refrigerants while adhering to safety standards
• Perform daily checks on refrigeration systems and equipment to ensure optimal operation
• Lead the refrigeration team to accomplish maintenance tasks and resolve issues efficiently
• Replace and repair boilers, ammonia systems, coolers, compressors, and HVAC systems as needed
• Perform scheduled maintenance on evaporators and condensers, and monitor plant systems for cleanliness and functionality

• Minimum of 2 years of refrigeration maintenance or related experience required
• Commercial HVAC experience required; industrial experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and plans
• Knowledge of safety standards, GMPs, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA)
