Job Summary
We are seeking a Security Installation Technician to join our team! As a Security Installation Technician, you will travel to various locations and job sites and accurately install or repair security and fire alarm systems based on customer specifications and location restrictions. This can include safes, locks of all types, access control, CCTV, remotes, and more. The ideal candidate has experience with security installation or similar electronic products, strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills, and an analytical way of thinking.
Responsibilities- Install, configure, and test security systems, including access control, video surveillance (IP and analog), burglar alarms, and fire alarm systems.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on existing security systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Program and troubleshoot systems, including network-based solutions, using tools like multi‑meters, battery analyzers, and software platforms.
- Run and terminate low‑voltage cabling and ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with electrical contractors and project managers to coordinate installations and system integrations.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and inspections using ticketing systems or RMM tools.
- Adhere to company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.
- Experience:
Minimum of 2–5 years of hands‑on experience installing or servicing security systems (e.g., access control, CCTV, fire alarms, or burglar alarms). - Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s degree in Electronics, Information Technology, or related field. - Technical
Skills:- Proficient in low‑voltage systems, electrical wiring, and IP‑based security systems.
- Familiarity with network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of test equipment (e.g., multi‑meters, battery analyzers).
- Experience with security system software (e.g., Exacq, DMP, Brivo, or similar).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
