Description

Penn Tank Lines is hiring a full-time Diesel Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair heavy-duty trucks. This role supports safe and efficient fleet operations through high-quality maintenance and adherence to established shop procedures. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, dependable, and works effectively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics and safety inspections following established procedures
  • Repair or replace major components, including engine, transmission, brakes, and electrical systems
  • Conduct test drives and make system adjustments based on performance standards
  • Complete accurate and timely service documentation in accordance with company requirements
  • Support overall shop operations while following safety policies and guidelines
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain equipment reliability and uptime
Qualifications
  • Experience using shop tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Ability to follow established maintenance and safety procedures
  • Able to work effectively in a team-based shop environment
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must have a basic set of personal tools; additional shop equipment is provided
  • Able to work in a shop environment that may not be climate-controlled
Preferred Experience (a plus, not required)
  • 5+ years of diesel/tractor-trailer experience
  • CDL Class B license
  • Tank trailer and HM183 knowledge
  • DOT Brake Certification
  • Vocational/Technical training
