Penn Tank Lines is hiring a full-time Diesel Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair heavy-duty trucks. This role supports safe and efficient fleet operations through high-quality maintenance and adherence to established shop procedures. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, dependable, and works effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostics and safety inspections following established procedures
- Repair or replace major components, including engine, transmission, brakes, and electrical systems
- Conduct test drives and make system adjustments based on performance standards
- Complete accurate and timely service documentation in accordance with company requirements
- Support overall shop operations while following safety policies and guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to maintain equipment reliability and uptime
- Experience using shop tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Ability to follow established maintenance and safety procedures
- Able to work effectively in a team-based shop environment
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Must have a basic set of personal tools; additional shop equipment is provided
- Able to work in a shop environment that may not be climate-controlled
- 5+ years of diesel/tractor-trailer experience
- CDL Class B license
- Tank trailer and HM183 knowledge
- DOT Brake Certification
- Vocational/Technical training
