Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated High Voltage Electrician / Instrument Technician to join our team supporting a brand-new, large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the Greater Indianapolis area. In this vital role, you will be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining critical electrical and instrumentation equipment that powers our utilities and production operations — including high-purity water, compressed air, steam, chilled water, and glycol systems.

Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our 4160V and 480V electrical distribution systems, complex process instrumentation, and automated control equipment. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of the startup team for a greenfield manufacturing site, helping build the processes and facility that will support GMP pharmaceutical production for years to come. If you thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment and take pride in precise, safety-first electrical work, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on 4160V and 480V electrical equipment, including circuit breakers, 13.8kV main switch gear, motor starters, fuses, and ground fault interrupts.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on complex electrical equipment such as motor control centers, variable-speed drives, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical equipment problems and execute repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Perform modifications and new installations of electrical equipment, including complex installs/replacements of motor control centres and main switch gear.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on process instrumentation, including temperature, pressure, flow, and automatic control valves.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose process instrumentation equipment issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Read and interpret P& and electrical schematics to accurately execute maintenance and installation work.
  • Consistently comply with safety rules and closely follow approved procedures to ensure cGMP compliance.
  • Document all work using Good Documentation Practices (ALCOA+).
Skills
  • Experience with 4160V (4.16kV) medium-voltage systems strongly needed.
  • Strong knowledge of circuit breakers, medium-voltage switch gear, motor starters, and fuses.
  • Proficiency troubleshooting and installing various types of process instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret P& and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with a CMMS (e.g., GMARS) or similar work order tracking system.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic electrical circuits and equipment.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment; FDA/cGMP-regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent electrical/instrumentation work experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to respond to call-ins and work scheduled overtime, including some shift work.
  • Completion of a Post-Offer exam is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis; sponsorship is not available for this role.

Join us if you're eager to be part of building a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility from the ground up while advancing your career in a highly regulated, mission-driven environment!
