Diesel Technician

Ryder System is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our Automotive team supporting our leading logistics and transportation fleet. In this on-site role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks and related equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation. Responsibilities include advanced troubleshooting of engines, electrical and brake systems, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting repairs using Ryder's systems. You'll collaborate with a supportive, safety-focused shop team that values innovation, continuous improvement, and employee development.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, and driveline components on Ryder fleet vehicles.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and safety checks to meet DOT and Ryder standards.
• Use electronic diagnostic tools and OEM software to troubleshoot electrical and emissions systems.
• Document all work performed in Ryder's maintenance systems with accurate parts and labor entries.
• Collaborate with service managers and team members to prioritize repairs and minimize vehicle downtime.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines in a clean, organized shop environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and share technical knowledge with junior technicians.
