Sr O&M Specialist | University Hospital Day Shift

This role operates at a journeyman level, performing service work, preventative maintenance and repairs on complex building systems, including mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulics, carpentry and/or machine servicing. • Perform and oversee work orders for complex preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems at a journeyman level.
• Determine the nature of problems and ensure repairs are completed in a timely and high-quality manner.
• Maintain machinery incidental to system operations at a journeyman level of expertise.

• Required — Technical Degree or Diploma
• Preferred — High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Required — O&M Specialist II, 1–3 years
• Required — Operations and maintenance, 5–7 years

• Preferred — Licensed Journeyman (Tennessee)
• Required — Tennessee:
  Class D Driver License / Vehicle
• Preferred — Arkansas:
  Class D Driver’s License / Vehicle
• Preferred — Mississippi:
  Class R Driver’s License / Vehicle

• Good written and verbal communication skills; able to read, write and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic; interpret drawings, diagrams, sketches and verbal instructions.
• Ability to organize tasks and manage workflow; possess a valid driver’s license; pass a DOT background check as required by the facility.

No supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position. Mentors and trains less experienced O&M Specialists.

Occasional outdoor work; ability to respond quickly to emergencies; occasional travel to other locations. Physical activities may include squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Heavy work up to 100 lbs occasionally and up to 50 lbs frequently. Close visual acuity required for data preparation, reading, and inspection.
