The Welder/Pipefitter - Construction - IN Region is responsible for the fabrication, installation, assembly, welding, testing, and repair of piping systems and related components on commercial, industrial, and institutional construction projects throughout the Indiana Region. This role requires the ability to interpret construction documents, perform precision welding and pipe fitting activities, and collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality work safely and efficiently.

The Welder/Pipefitter plays a critical role in ensuring piping systems are installed according to project specifications, industry standards, and applicable codes.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, isometric drawings, and project documentation to determine piping layouts and installation requirements.
• Measure, cut, bevel, thread, fit, fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems and associated components.
• Perform welding operations using approved processes, including TIG, MIG, Stick (SMAW), and other welding methods as required by project specifications.
• Install, modify, test, and repair piping systems for HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, process piping, compressed air, and other mechanical systems.
• Lay out work and verify dimensions, elevations, alignments, and connections to ensure accurate installation.
• Install hangers, supports, valves, fittings, pumps, and related piping accessories.
• Perform pressure testing, leak testing, and quality inspections to verify system integrity and proper operation.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, project specifications, welding procedures, and company quality standards.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, rigging equipment, and material handling devices safely and effectively.
• Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and handling of materials and equipment on job sites.
• Coordinate work activities with project managers, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and other trades to maintain project schedules and workflow efficiency.
• Identify installation challenges, constructability concerns, and field conflicts and communicate solutions to project leadership.
• Complete required documentation, including daily reports, safety inspections, quality checks, and work logs.
• Maintain welding certifications, qualifications, and training requirements as applicable.
• Follow GEMCO safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety requirements at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Strong knowledge of pipe fitting, welding practices, fabrication techniques, and mechanical construction methods.
