Job Summary — The OpportunityThe next generation of electricians learns best from peoplewho have done the work. As our Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor, you'llpass on the theory, hands-on skills, and safety habits that turn apprenticesinto confident, capable journey-level electricians.
In this role, you will teach the required apprenticeshipcurriculum and train journeymen, apprentices, and other trades in NFPA 70
Eelectrical safe work practices and Hazardous Energy Control Program (HECP) procedures. You'll travel across the customer's system, working one on one with apprentices in the field to make sure their on-the-job learning is taught and evaluated consistently. Reporting to our Business Operations Director, you'llalso put your own skills to work maintaining and troubleshooting complex electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes- Teach thecraft. Instruct all required apprentice electrician curriculum, coveringtheory, installation, troubleshooting, and safety.
- Build asafety culture. Train journeymen, apprentices, mechanics, machinists, andother trades in NFPA 70E safe work practices and HECP procedures, in partnership with the electrical safety program.
- Mentor inthe field. Work one on one with apprentices on real electrical tasks, ensuring on-the-job learning is instructed and evaluated consistently acrossthe system.
- Keepsystems running safely. Maintain, test, repair, and troubleshoot complex electrical and electronic systems, and perform high-voltage switching undersafe clearance procedures as a certified switchman.
- Keep records current. Update schematics, drawings, and diagrams, and maintaincalibration test and preventive maintenance records.
- Stay organized on the road. Plan your weekly schedule with customers, logactivity in the CRM, submit expense, mileage, and activity reports on time, andjoin weekly huddles with directors and the corporate training team.
- Required:High school diploma or GED.
- Required:10 years as a journey-level electrician, or completion of a state orfederally registered apprenticeship plus 7 years of journey-level experience.
- Required:5+ years of experience as an electrical apprenticeship instructor.
- Required:Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E, hazardous energy control, and high-voltage switching and clearance procedures.
- Required:Clear communication skills and the ability to travel and drive for extended periods, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs. in indoor and outdoor settings.
- Preferred:Associate's degree or technical trade school, and certification from an accredited craft instructor training program.
- Preferred:EPRI Level II Instrumentation Technician and EPRI Level II Test Administrator certifications.
