Cat Community Coordinator
Indy Vet Emergency & Specialty Hospital – Blood Donation Center
Pay: $15.50 – $18.50 per hour (DOE)
Do you love cats and take pride in keeping spaces clean, organized, and comfortable? Indy Vet Emergency & Specialty Hospital is looking for a Cat Community Coordinator to help care for the special feline residents in our Blood Donation Center.
Our donor cats play an important role in helping save the lives of other cats in need. This position focuses on providing excellent daily care, maintaining a clean and enriching environment, and supporting the overall wellbeing of our feline community.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, staying active throughout the day, and spending time caring for cats.
Responsibilities- Feed and provide fresh water to cats daily
- Monitor and record the daily health and wellbeing of cats
- Maintain a clean and sanitary cattery environment (sweeping, mopping, laundry)
- Wash litter boxes, bowls, trays, and cat supplies
- Vacuum the hallway and litter room
- Monitor cat interactions during recreation and enrichment time
- Take out trash and maintain overall organization of the space
- Carry a two-way radio for communication with reception and Blood Bank personnel
- Meet deliveries and help organize incoming supplies
- Support enrichment activities such as brushing and socializing cats
- Assist with medications and monthly preventatives when needed
- Clean cages, cat toys, play areas, walls, and windows
- Stock cat food, litter, and supplies
- Maintain air purifiers and assist with general facility upkeep
- Knowledge of animal behavior or experience working with cats
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong prioritization and time management skills
- Friendly, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- High school diploma or equivalent
This is an active role that includes:
- Lifting bags of cat litter and food up to 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, lifting, cleaning, and movement throughout the day
