Position: Social Work/Human Services Internship - Paid
Location: Indianapolis

Restorative Justice and Teen Court Intern

Paid Internship: $750 per semester (Hiring for Fall and Spring Semesters)

Hours: 10-15 hours per week

Reports to: Restorative Justice Directors

Summary

The interns will be part of the key leadership team, working alongside Outreach Directors and the Teen Court Director to assist the agency in carrying forward its mission through community programs: R.E.A.C.H., Social Emotional Learning, Restorative Justice and in‑school Teen Court, constantly seeking new and innovative ways to increase capacity. Additional responsibilities include case management to connect participants to community resources.

Qualifications
  • Pursuing or considering a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in social work, criminal justice, human services or related field at an accredited college or university.
  • Agree to the organization’s confidentiality statement.
  • Have reliable transportation and ability to drive to community sites.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic status of clients and issues they face.
  • Preferable experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good teamwork ability.
  • Self‑motivated.
  • Accurate documentation and timely completion of assignments.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
Essential Tasks
  • Assist in teaching and training of the restorative justice model to student and parent participants.
  • Work closely with Directors on communication of program needs, referrals, compliance protocols, and project questions.
  • Support Directors with community outreach, case management, program facilitation, data collection and entry.
  • Assist in developing community partners, building strong relationships, implementing programming, and evaluating restorative justice programs.
  • Assist in recruiting and training volunteers.
  • Assist in tracking and scheduling client referrals.
  • Attend organization events and staff meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
