Position Overview

Position is responsible for processing all referrals and releases to Community Corrections Electronic Monitoring (EM) from Marion Superior Courts, Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC), Probation, or other Community Corrections Agencies. The incumbent performs all client processing tasks including researching court orders, calculating credit time, printing and signing documents, obtaining legal documents, completing risk assessments, completing financial worksheets, determining fees owed, and entering data.

The incumbent monitors the whereabouts of EM clients in the Client Service Center, which operates 24/7/365 on the 2nd and 3rd shifts. They record contacts with EM clients, courts, and governmental or community agencies, respond to vendor and agency communications regarding non‑compliance, monitor alarm outputs for high‑risk clients as specified by Indiana Statute, and exercise independent judgment in crisis management and confidentiality.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor adherence to the rules of Electronic Monitoring of all clients and respond to EM alerts daily.
  • Recognize and respond to the legitimate needs of victims and alert them to issues of concern during client supervision.
  • Hold clients accountable for complying with rules of supervision, informing them of consequences of non‑compliance.
  • Contact the client or victim responding to criminal justice partners by researching and investigating all alerts.
  • Communicate with each client’s assigned Case Manager and the EM Supervisor or Team Leader on all client activities, equipment problems, alert issues and violations.
  • Investigate all alleged violations of supervision.
  • Investigate alleged violations of supervision and file with the court on clients who have escaped, absconded, or violated conditions of supervision.
  • Testify in court on the factual basis in the filing of the violation and the warrant request as required.
  • Enter specific alert information into the case management system, including all necessary information regarding alert type, and document all actions taken to address alerts received.
  • Document all information as part of the shift events that have to do with clients.
  • Enter work, school, medical care, court, and schedules into vendor's software program and document in the agency’s case management system.
  • Provide staff assistance to the CM and Supervisor, informing the Supervisor of issues requiring input and/or consent in a timely manner.
  • Follow appropriate procedure when violations have occurred or equipment maintenance is required.
  • Review and research court orders to assure referrals or releases with Community Corrections EM are accurate.
  • Complete risk assessment according to Community Corrections policy.
  • Assign client to case managers and schedule initial appointments with written verification.
  • Conduct client interviews, review the rules of placement with Community Corrections, and answer basic questions.
  • Complete required reports and documents.
  • Calculate credit time and projected release dates for each client and complete financial worksheet to determine daily user fee.
  • Coordinate release dates of clients and organize electronic files per policy.
  • Obtain or verify additional client information without side agencies when necessary.
