Job Description

Social-Emotional/Behavior Assistant

Purpose of Position:
The SEBA will work under the supervision of the Behavior Specialist and Consultants in supporting students with social-emotional skill deficits and/or behavioral challenges. The SEBA will work as a part of the collaborative SEL team within designated schools providing de-escalation techniques, emotion identification and emotion regulation training to help ensure a safe, supportive and positive learning environment for students and staff.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Effectively implement de-escalation techniques with students across the school environment
  • Execute written plans and programs developed by Behavior Specialist & Consultants
  • Collect data and conduct systematic observation as directed, to assist teams in the development of supportive interventions
  • Collaborate with SEL/Behavior Teams to develop and implement proactive interventions
  • Model the Implementation of positive behavior supports, and de-escalation techniques
  • Model Trauma-Sensitive practices for staff, and provide Trauma-Sensitive interventions
  • Assist students and staff in Emotion Identification Training, Emotional Regulation Training and Social Skills Training
  • Meet with the Behavior Specialist & Consultants regularly to discuss student progress, and building-level needs
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED minimum
  • Associate’s Degree or Behavior certification, preferred
  • Two or more years of working with students with behavior deficits
  • Proven history of supporting students in crisis with de-escalation techniques
  • Proven history of working as part of a collaborative team
  • Pay: $22.21 per hour for 7.0 hours per day.

    Position Type: Full-Time

    Salary: $22.21 to $22.21 Per Hour
